  • Council members promoting community priorities with Team Lethbridge in Edmonton

    Advancing Lethbridge’s status as the Gateway to Opportunity, showcasing strong regional collaboration, and championing our community’s needs will be the primary focus for two members of Lethbridge City Council during an advocacy trip this week. Mayor Blaine Hyggen, Councillor Jenn Schimdt-Rempel, as well as City Manager Lloyd Brierley, are part of the Team Lethbridge 2024 contingent heading to Edmonton today through Thursday. Led by Economic Development Lethbridge (EDL), this will be the eighth Team Lethbridge visit since 2008.

  • Northside garage fire under investigation

    Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services (LFES) responded to a residential garage fire at the 1000 block of 16 Street North on Friday, November 1, at approximately 11:00 p.m. Firefighters from four fire stations arrived to find the garage fully engulfed in flames

  • Veterans Avenue naming, plus information for local Remembrance Day ceremonies

    Leading up to Remembrance Day, the section of 4 Avenue South between Stafford Drive (9 Street) and 11 Street will be temporarily renamed Veterans Avenue. The Lethbridge Remembrance Day Committee also has two concurrent 2024 Lethbridge Remembrance Day Services set for Monday, November 11.

  • Reminder to check your smoke alarms this weekend

    As clocks “fall back” this weekend, Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services encourages residents to take the opportunity to check and maintain their smoke alarms.  

  • Catching Up With Council - Councillor Belinda Crowson

    Preparations are already underway for the next municipal election, scheduled for October 20, 2025. We invited all current Council members to share their thoughts on the first three years of this term. In the coming weeks, we’ll share their insights and priorities as we look toward the next election. 

    Next is Councillor Belinda Crowson, who was first elected to Council in 2017 and won a second term in 2021. 

  • Keeping Lethbridge on the move in winter – snow route season has started

    Winter is just around the corner and today marks the start of the second season of snow routes in Lethbridge. Snow routes can be activated anytime from November 1 – April 1 when deemed necessary by Transportation Operations. 

    The community is reminded to look out for the blue snowflake tab on snow route parking signs and check the status of snow routes before parking on-street this winter.

  • Feedback still sought for 10 Avenue and 9 Avenue South Functional Plan

    There is still time for people complete the Corridor Options Survey for the 10 Avenue South and 9 Avenue South Functional Planning Study. The survey includes illustrations of how components of the corridors may be transformed to enhance multi-modal transportation for residents and visitors, drawing from the valuable feedback gathered throughout the Project Visioning and earlier stages of the project.

    Families, friends and fans can now stay more connected to amateur and minor sports, thanks to the introduction of LiveBarn in Lethbridge. The platform provides live and on-demand broadcasts of local amateur sports, at no cost to the City.
