Effective January 1, 2025 the following City of Lethbridge Riders are as follows:

• Rider A: 15.50 % of DT charges
• Rider B: $0.00130/kWh
• Rider C: $0.00000/kWh

Going forward, Riders B and C will be reviewed monthly.

LEU will adjust Rider B to reflect the charges/credit from the Balancing Pool.

LEU will adjust Rider C to reflect the costs of the AESO DTS rate as billed to Lethbridge Electric Utility.​

Rate of Last Resort

The Rate of Last Resort (RoLR) is a two-year fixed, stable default rate with a 10% rate adjustment cap for any subsequent two-year fixed rate.

The RoLR includes energy related charges (including, but not limited to, energy rates, risk margin and trading charges) and a consumer awareness surcharge of 0.1 cents/kWh to support initiatives by the Utilities Consumer Advocate to inform regulated rate customers about their electricity service options.

Regulated rate customers are free to purchase electricity services from a retailer of their choice. For a list of retailers, visit ucahelps.alberta.ca or call 310-4822 (toll free in Alberta).

*Customers who receive service under an RRO rate will not be charged more than 13.5 cents per kilowatt hour in January, February and March 2023. Any costs above the 13.5 cent price ceiling will be deferred until rates drop and will be repaid over 21 months (April 2023 to December 2024).

Residential water use is charged at $1.327 per cubic meter in addition to the service charge in Schedule A.

Residential sewer volume*

• Winter Months - November 15 - April 14 - Sewer consumption charge will equal water usage.
• Summer Months - April 15 to November 14 - Sewer consumption charge will equal the lesser of:
  • The winter months' average water usage OR
  • The actual water meter read
• To calculate the winter months' average, we'll look at the water usage figures from the five monthly utility statements with meter reading dates between November 15th and April 14th. Any monthly usage figures below 3 cubic meters will be counted as 3 cubic meters for the purposes of this calculation.
