Parking tickets can be appealed within 30 days from the date of offence.

For parking complaints, call 311. Complaints can be made Monday Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Callers must provide details and personal information.

Pay your parking ticket online

Tickets can be paid in person via Debit or Credit card at the Park and Ride office located at 705 5 Ave S. Cash payments are still accepted at the City Hall cashiers on the first floor. Payments can be made between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. from Monday to Friday.

Parking tickets can be appealed within 30 days from the date of offence. See link to form above.

Pay this ticket at the Provincial Courthouse located at 320 4 Street South, Lethbridge on or before the date indicted on the offence notice.

No person shall:

  • Allow a vehicle to remain parked in a zone after paid time has expired
  • Allow a vehicle to remain parked in a zone in excess of the maximum permitted time indicated on the parking kiosk or sign
  • Park a vehicle outside of the space designated as a parking spot
  • Park in an alley unless the vehicle is parked in such a manner so as not to obstruct traffic while actively engaged in loading or unloading goods
  • Leave a trailer unattached on City roadways
  • Leave a trailer designed for occupancy on City roadways for a period longer than 48 hours
  • Park a vehicle in excess of 6 meters in overall length, unless signs indicate otherwise

Park or leave a vehicle on private land, which has been signed as such without the consent of the property owner

No person shall park:

  • On a crosswalk
  • Within 5 m of a marked crosswalk
  • Within 5 m of a stop or yield sign
  • Within 5 m of a fire hydrant
  • Within 1.5 m of access to a garage, driveway, or lane
  • At any place where traffic control device (sign) prohibits stopping or parking
  • On the roadway side of a vehicle that is parked or stopped at a curb or edge of the roadway (double parked)
  • When parallel parked, with the right hand wheels not more than 500 mm from the curb, or edge of the roadway
  • When angle parking with one front wheel not more than 500 mm from the curb, or edge of the roadway

Operate or park a motor vehicle or trailer displaying an expired plate

Parking enforcement information

  • The City of Lethbridge regulates parking through the use of both municipal bylaws, as well as the Traffic Safety Act of Alberta.
  • The three main areas of enforcement are on-street parking, off-street or private property parking and institutional parking.
  • There are controlled residential parking zones within the City of Lethbridge.
  • The City of Lethbridge uses RFID Technology on their enforcement vehicles to scan license plates and identify vehicles not registered as paid in the parking system.
  • Penalties for offences under the Lethbridge traffic bylaw. The penalties under bylaw will be reduced if payment is received within ten days from the date of the offence. The Province of Alberta sets penalties under the Traffic Safety Act There are no reductions applicable to provincial offences.
