Safety and Courtesy on the Trails
Please share the trails with all recreational users. By following some simple guidelines, you can ensure that everyone enjoys themselves.
- Follow park sign directions and official maps, and stay on sanctioned trails only
- Do not build new trails – Join the Lethbridge Trail Alliance
- Stay off coulee trails when wet
- Leave no trace!
- Learn about coulee ecology at the Helen Schuler Nature Centre
- Dogs must be on leash (unless in one of our designated off-leash areas)
- Wear a helmet
- Use a bell
- Cyclists yield to pedestrians
- Yield right-of-way to cyclists/runners travelling uphill
- Cyclists are not permitted in dog parks
- Dogs must be on leash (unless in one of our designated off-leash areas)
- Be a responsible pet owner: always clean up after your pet
- Dogs are not permitted in nature reserves
- With precipitation (or seasonal melt) comes muddy trail conditions. Avoid use of all trails in wet conditions to prevent excessive damages.
- Prevent trail braiding and widening by traveling single file on single track trails, and don’t go off-trail to avoid visible water. This damages our coulees and trails.
- Volunteer! Join the Lethbridge Trail Alliance to help maintain our amazing River Valley Trails or attend a workshop to participate hands-on

Community Gifting Program
The Program was developed as a possible means to enhance the opportunity for community giving. Through this program, individuals and organizations are able to place a park bench with a plaque in a City of Lethbridge green space.
Information on Gifting Program
The most popular item within the Gifting Program is a park bench which is purchased for a specified location and memorialized with a custom plaque.
