Indian Battle Park
Indian Battle Park, located in the Oldman River Valley, has something for all ages, abilities and days of the year. It is also home to the historic Fort Whoop Up Interpretive Centre.
Fort Whoop Up Interpretive Centre includes a replica fort, concession, buggy rides, seasonal events and fun for all ages. The park also features key historical attractions like the Medicine Stone, Coal Banks Kiosk, information on the Incline Railway and the High Level Bridge.
Hiking and walking trails meander throughout the flood plain and are sheltered by mature trees. The trails are used by exercise and nature enthusiasts alike and are often used for community walks and runs. There are several river access points in the park used for canoeing, tubing and fishing alike. There is also a warm-up station located near Fort Whoop Up for individuals going for a run or bicycle ride.
Indian Battle Park is home to numerous drop in sites with picnic tables and fire pits, the Baroness Picnic Shelter and the fenced Elks Picnic site. The Elks is a locked site which must be booked through Rec and Culture, has a fire pit, tables, horseshoe pits, volleyball pit, and kitchen. The Baroness can also be booked, but may be used as a drop in if not booked.
The newest feature in Indian Battle Park is the natural themed playground which consists of the rattle snake play area, a climbing wall, swings, spider web pathway and the beaver lodge.
