Flexible work options for eligible employees include:
- Alternate Work Week – We have various options available for work schedules, including a traditional Monday to Friday, 9-5 schedule or an earned day off (EDO) approach.
- Compressed Work Week - Employees work more hours per day and fewer days in the week, based on operational requirements.
- Remote Work Arrangements – We offer fixed days in the office or at home, hybrid schedules, and fully remote options for jobs that support these arrangements.

Disability Management:
The City’s disability program is self-funded by both the employer and the employees and is run by the Disability Partnership which consists of representatives from each union as well as administration. This approach ensures the program remains solidly funded and adaptive to the needs of employees. The City’s in-house Disability team consists of specialists who support employees during their medical leave, including connecting employees to programs and resources they may not be aware of in the community. Return to work planning that respects the dignity of individuals while balancing the operational needs of departments is also a key support the Disability team provides.
