The Alberta Government has implemented the Seniors Property Tax Deferral Program. This voluntary program allows eligible seniors to defer their residential property taxes through a low interest home equity loan with Alberta Health. If a senior is eligible, the Province will pay your property taxes to the City and the loan will be payable when the senior sells the home or the loan is paid in full.
